Nacpan & Calitang twin beaches, El Nido, Palawan

El Nido (officially the Municipality of El Nido) is a first class municipality and managed resource protected area in the province of Palawan in the Philippines. It is about 420 kilometres (260 mi) southwest of Manila, and about 238 kilometres (148 mi) northeast of Puerto Princesa, Palawan’s capital. According to CNNGo, it is the Best Beach and Island destination in the Philippines for its "extraordinary natural splendor and ecosystem." Nacpan and Calitang twin beaches are one of them which is in the town of Bucana, about 17.5 Km north from El Nido Town proper, travel time is about 1 hour riding a tricycle and about 40 min. riding a van. About half of the road are rough that are slippery during the rainy days and dusty during sunny days. No directional signs along the road so it's a must to have a guide. This place is compose of white sandy wide beach stretching about 4 kms or so. At one end, one can cross over to another beach where the water is calmer. To explore the Nacpan Beach and Calitang beach meet, just climb up the rock formation to have a better and get the entire panoramic view.
