Winning the BMW championship was Day's fifth victory in the season following triumphs at the Canadian Open, the Farmers Insurance Open, The Barclays, and the PGA Championship.

“Knowing that out of all the golfers in the world playing right now, that I’m the best, it’s such a good feeling,” Day said about his success.

Day’s mother is from Leyte province and his grandmother and relatives were among typhoon Yolanda victims.
