Breaking: Strong Typhoon Basyang to Hit Visayas, Mindanao Next Week

UPDATES: Strong typhoon Basyang threatens to hit Visayas and Mindanao which may bring heavy rainfall and powerful wind. Typhoon Basyang is expected to affect Central Visayas (Cebu) and Mindanao, Philippines on February 12 - 15, 2018

PAGASA Weather Bureau recorded that Basyang has intensified more as it moving west closer to Philippines.

An initial track from JTWC shows it will pass straight but changes might happen as it traverse Pacific Ocean.

Invest 93W to the S/SSE of the #Mariana islands has been upgraded into Tropical Depression 02W by the JTWC earlier today. The system will be passing through the Micronesian islands of #Yap and #Palau during the next couple of days, still as a Tropical Depression or as a Tropical Storm. After that, 02W is expected to affect the #Philippines' #Visayas and/or #Mindanao region early next week, some time on Monday-Wednesday.
Those in Yap and Palau, as well as Visayas and Mindanao, should closely monitor and be prepared.
