AMERICATHON: This Film Predicted China’s Economic Victory Over USA
Americathon was released in 1979, the film depicted a then futuristic vision of 1998. The predictions made by the film seem to be accurate in the current context. The film accurately predicted the downfall of USSR and China's unprecedented rise to power and the way it surpassed America economically. The film warned the public that America would be deep in debt to foreign investors and will experience a massive oil crisis.

Originally the storyline was set 20 years into the future, but the predictions seem to match our present conditions, several shocking forecasts were made. Surprisingly, many of these predictions came true:
(1.)The People's Republic of China embracing capitalism and becoming a global economic superpower.
