Para May Panlaman-Tiyan, Tira-Tira ang Kinakain ng Pinay Domestic Helper na Ito sa Bahrain

Most people think that overseas Filipino workers are living the dream life abroad. However, this is far from reality. As a matter of fact, life abroad is much more difficult than the life here in the Philippines and many OFWs can attest to this.

Among those OFWs is Rosemarie Silapan. For many years now, Rosemarie has served as a domestic helper in Ar-Riffa, Bahrain. Based on her Facebook photos, it seemed like Rosemarie is serving a well-to-do family.

However, the good life barely trickles on the house helpers. In a Facebook post, the Pinay domestic helper revealed their harrowing situation in Bahrain.

According to her post, they resort to eating the leftover of their employers just to avoid getting hungry. She was quoted as saying:

"Yung di mo naranasan sa bansang pinagmulan mo, mararanasan mo dito sa mundo ng mga camel, kaya laban lang. Kala nyo puro lang kami pasarap dito, walang sarap dito puro kami pasakit dito. Masakit ang ulo kasi gutom."

Even though she did not land in the hands of good employers, Rosemarie still perseveres to work. According to her, she draws strength and motivation from her family back in the Philippines. Every day, in order to get by, all she thinks about is coming home.

On the other hand, Rosemarie's post served as an eye-opener for many netizens. Many fellow Filipinos expressed their prayers and admiration to Rosemarie. As of writing this, Rosemarie's viral Facebook post has received more than 2,000 reactions and 1,400 shares.
