OFW, Nawawala Ngayon Matapos Maipadala sa Maling Bansa ng Agency

The life of an overseas Filipino worker is not easy. They leave their hometown and family just to seek their luck abroad. In some cases, isntead of luck, some OFWs encounter a bitter fate in other countries.

Most of the time, Pinoy domestic helpers land at the hands of cruel employers. These cases often occur in the Middle East. Earlier this week, another overseas Filipino worker in Syria was reportedly missing.

A concerned citizen called out the attention of netizens on Facebook in order to help Ramiya Diragen. Ramiya is just one of the thousands of OFWs who are trying to provide for their family, but she ended up in a dire situation.

According to Rasmiya's sister, she was supposed to be sent in Dubai to work as a domestic helper. However, instead of being sent to Dubai as planned, Rasmiya's agency mistakenly sent her to Syria instead.

The government has banned sending OFWs in Syria, because of the country's 'unstable peace and order situation.' Aside from that grave lapse, Rasmiya's agency also ignored her pleas because apparently, her Syrian employers were cruel.

By this time, it was already too late and the family can do nothing about her situation. They tried to appeal to Rasmiya's agency, however, their pleas remained unanswered.

Until now, Rasmiya remains missing. Her family can no longer contact her. Hopefully, the Department of Foreign Affairs will extend their help to find Rasmiya.
