Several Dead In 6.4 Magnitude Earthquake in Itbayat, Batanes
BATANES QUAKE – Itbayat, Batanes Mayor said several people died after the 6.4 magnitude earthquake today, July 27.
Earlier today, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that Batanes was hit by a strong earthquake.

In a report, the 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Itbayat, Batanes around 7:38 a.m. today, July 27, 2019.
According to the report, Mayor Raul De Sagon most of the quake victims are residents from Barangay Santa Maria in Itbayat. He told the DZMM radio that those people were buried by the debris in their old houses made of limestones without metal auxiliaries.
“Nadaganan sila doon sa mga bahay nila… Nakaano [tira] kasi sila sa old houses na made of lime[stones] na walang bakal,” he said.
