Moto Riding Community Mourns Death of 'Bohol Lady Rider'
The motorcycle riding community in the Visayas region mourns the tragic death of Jhezz Maria Naraga Gementiza, also known as "Bohol Lady Rider."
According to reports, Gementiza drowned after a flash flood occured while she was bathing with some friends at Kilab-Kilab Falls located in Barangay Caimbang, San Isidro, Bohol at around 3 p.m. last Thursday, August 6, 2020.
Reports added that the "Bohol Lady Rider," who also happened to be an events model, "Tiktoker," and famous social media personality in the region, went missing when flood water suddenly gushed in the area. Her lifeless body was found by responders hours later.
Some members of the riding community said in separate Facebook posts that four of her friends were alive and out of harm's way. These reports were not independently verified.
After the news broke out on Friday, August 7, Gementiza's photos and Tiktok videos were instantly shared by people who have joined rides with her and followed her on social media.
A video of the incident was also posted on YouTube. The family, however, asked for privacy and requested that the images be deleted, one of the relatives posted.
According to Clement Leo Sibla, a relative, Gementiza's mother has a heart ailment and has yet to be informed about the incident.
