Hong Kong: Pasahero mula Pilipinas positibo sa UK variant ng COVID-19

Positibo sa bagong strain ng coronavirus ang isang pasahero na mula sa Pilipinas sa pagdating nito sa bansang Hong Kong.

Ayon kay Dr. Chuang Shuk-kwan, head ng Communicable Disease Branch of Hong Kong’s Center for Health Protection dumating ang pasahero sa Hong Kong lulan ng Philippine Airlines flight PR300 nitong Disyembre 22, 2020.

“[Patient] 9003 took PR300 and arrived in Hong Kong on the 22nd of December from Philippines,” ani Chuang sa briefing ng special administrative region’s Information Services Department.

“The UK variant originated back in September as the people have been flying around. We anticipated that it will appear in other countries,” saad ni Chuang.

“We found them in the France or Philippines returnees and this is anticipated. Clearly, we are implementing stringent measures… For example, quarantine for 21 days at designated hotels,” dagdag nito.
