MIKOY MORALES EXCITED WITH THE COMING 25TH ANNIVERSARY PRESENTATION OF 'BUBBLE GANG' & HIS NEW MOVIE 'MANG JOSE' WITH JANNO GIBBS
MIKOY MORALES, a runnerup in GMA’s Protege Artista Search, is happy that GMA has just renewed his contract and he is now part of a new big adventure series, “Lolong”, with Ruru Madrid.
He’s also a regular in “Bubble Gang” and is part of the show’s special 25th anniversary presentation.
“I’m very thankful to be a part of ‘Bubble Gang’ for 8 years now,” he says.
“I learned a lot from it, specially from Kuya Michael V who is so generous in sharing with us all his expertise about doing comedy. Abangan nyo ang aming special anniversary presentation kasi maraming magagandang numbers and big guest stars.”
And now, he has also just made his first movie with Viva, “Mang Jose”, where he co-stars with Janno Gibbs.
“I’ve been with GMA since 2012 so anlaking bahagi na ng buhay ko ang pagiging Kapuso,” he says.
“My stay with them is life-changing. It’s like a relationship with your parents that is well grounded. I don’t know kung nasaan ako ngayon kung wala sila. So I’m really grateful to GMA and to Artist Center na hanggang ngayon, nandito pa rin ako sa kanila and they still see my worth.”
How did he get to be a part of “Mang Jose”?
“Nakita ko lang yung poster nila na may audition, so nag-apply ako. Ayun, suwerteng ako ang nakuha nila. I’m so happy kasi first time ko to work with Kuya Janno Gibbs. Nakikita ko lang siya sa GMA noon, but we never got the chance to work together. Yun pala, dito sa movie kami unang magkakasama.”
He’s elated when he learned “Mang Jose” also stars Jerald Napoles.
“Jerald and I, nagkasama kami sa teatro but first time ko rin to work with him in a movie. Nakakatuwa. I learned a lot from him and Kuya Janno about doing comedy. I enjoyed working with them, may rapport kami agad.”
In the movie, he plays the role of Bing Loyzaga’s son and they become the victims of villain Manilyn Reynes who turned them into zombies.
“Intimidated ako nung una kay Kuya Janno kasi magaling talaga siya sa comedy, but it turns out that he is very collaborative. He really talks with us muna about how to do our scenes para mabuo ng maganda.
"Si Jerald is also very sharp minded, ang galing ng ideas niya. Dahil sa husay nila, may pressure sa akin to think outside the box and give more than what they just usually require from us.”
He wished he had more scenes with Jerald.
“Parang nabitin ako kay Jerald kasi kakaunti ang scenes namin. I’m hoping we can work together again in the future. But si Kuya Janno, it’s really a pleasure working with him as I was pushed to my limits and forced to be always on top of my game.
"He taught me how to find your freedom in doing comedy para alam mo kung hanggang saan ka puede maglaro. Masaya kami sa shoot and we know we all gave our best to come up with a good action-comedy movie para matapatan yung hype ng hit song ng Parokya ni Edgar on which the movie is based.”
