WRITER DIRECTOR DENISE O'HARA OF VIVAMAX' 'THE WIFE'

DENISE O’HARA started as a writer of teleseryes like “Juanita Banana”, “Maria del Barrio” and “Be Careful with My Heart” on ABS-CBN. S

he directed her first full length film in 2018, “Mamang” starring Celeste Legaspi, an entry in Cinemalaya for which she won a best director award.

This was followed by the romcom “Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Pa Tayo” with JC Santos and Jane Oineza for Cinema One Originals. Now, she directs “The Wife” for Vivamax that will start streaming on February 11, 2022.

Louise delos Reyes is Mara, the soft-spoken wife of Cris (Diego Loyzaga).

Their marriage turns sour when Cris cheats on Mara with his ex-girlfriend, Lee (Cara Gonzales), an aggressive and outspoken woman who is the total opposite of Mara.

But as the couple tries to recuperate from their broken relationship, Cris is diagnosed with cancer.

The film reflects on how long should you fight for your marriage despite your spouse’s infidelity.

And in faithfully committing to the marriage vow of being together in sickness and in health, how would the lawful spouse accept a dying plea that involves the mistress?

“I’m thankful to Vivamax for giving me the chance to do a movie for them,” says Direk Denise.

“I also want to thank Louise, Diego and Cara for their full cooperation in shooting this film which is about the sacrifices one has to do to make your relationship work. Don’t miss is starting February 11 on Vivamax.”
