Low Level Of Blood Sugar May Accelerate Aging

According to Taiwan’s National Health Research Institute (NHRI) a low blood glucose level may accelerate aging. Blood glucose also called glycosylated hemoglobin or glycohemoglobin (HnA1c) the term that always stick to the deadly diabetes.

A normal blood glucose concentration level is 4.2%-5.6%, risk of developing diabetes is at 5.7% to 6.4%, any higher than that percentage may lead to diabetes. However, having a low blood glucose level is not necessary better according to the researchers.

In the researcher’s program called Healthy Aging Longitudinal Study In Taiwan, those who have lower that the normal percentage of blood sugar level have the risk physical impairment that accelerates the aging.

The research study have concluded “"high and low HbA1c levels at baseline are associated with faster physical functioning decline, particularly among individuals with elevated circulating soluble interleukin-6 receptor, a sign of enhanced interleukin-6 trans-signaling”, as reported by CNA from the researchers.

High and low blood sugar level increase inflammation on the body that could be a sign of early aging, doctors have advised to have a regular health checks.
