Teddy Locsin, Nakatikim ng Maanghang na Salita Mula kay Regine Velasquez

"Asia's Songbird" Regine Velasquez is, without a doubt, one of the most respected celebrities in the industry. Many people admire her not only for her singing prowess but for her integrity as well. Even in the past, the singer is well-loved for being genuine and vocal about her feelings.

Earlier this week, Regine once again became the talk of the town after airing her opinion against Foreign Affairs Chief Teodoro Locsin Jr. In a tweet posted on April 16, Locsin was quoted as to saying:

"I am not going down in history as a clam defender, okay? It's a complaint; we're looking into it; but these are just fucking food; no one goes to war for clams (maybe Oysters of Locquemariaquer) but they just happen to be OUR food. They should pay for them like in fish market."

His callous statement triggered many nerves and he garnered divided opinion on social media. One of those who disapproved of the diplomat's message is Regine Velasquez herself, who immediately tweeted as a response to Locsin's statement:

"Ang akala ko pa naman matalino ka. Ako ay simpling tao lamang na may simpleng pagiisip. These people are invading our territory they are not just taking food sinistral nila ang ating karagatan!!!!"

What ensued next is Locsin lecturing the singer that the shoal is no longer under the territory of the Philippines. His comment went unheard because the netizens are busy supporting the singer for her bravado! Indeed, it is rare to see a celebrity these days who are willing to stand up for their beliefs, no matter the consequences.
