Matapos Iraos ng Dalawang Taon, Biglang Tinanggalan ng Karapatan ang Single Dad na ito sa Kanyang Anak

In the Philippines, there's a law that protects the right of the mother to get custody of her child. Children under seven years of age should be under the care of their mother, especially if the parents are unwed. However, more and more people are contesting to this unjust system.

Among them is a young single father named Roman Castro Mendoza. On Facebook, he penned a long and heartfelt story about the unjust system. He solely raised his toddler daughter, Romaine, for two years without the help of the mother. But in the end, she still won the custody battle.

Raising a child on your own is not an easy feat. While guarding his daughter, Mendoza also had to juggle his studies and his job. Despite the restless days and sleepless nights, Mendoza gritted his teeth through it all for the sake of his child.

Yet in the end, all of his sacrifices were in vain. Out of nowhere, the mother swooped in and took custody of their child:

"Bakit ang unfair? Ganun ganun nalang yun? Kung kelan malaki na, sya pa din ang may karapatan? Nasan sya nung mga panahon na un? Nasan sya nung mga panahong puyat ako, nag aaral ako, nagwowork ako, nasan sya?"

Even though it was Mendoza who took care of his daughter for more than two years, the law favors the mother. He knows he doesn't stand a chance going against the law, so in the end, he vented his sentiments online.

"Ayokong makitang ibang lalakeng nag aalaga sayo.. Iloveyou Romaine, kahit nanay sya di sya naging ina sayo tamang sa kanya ka lumabas.. Kung nakakapag salita lang si Romaine ayaw na sumama sa inyo, iyak ng iyak.. Kasi alam ng bata yung totoong nagmamahal sa kanya hindi yung may Plinaplano lang na kakaiba."

As expected, many people sympathized with the good father. His story immediately went viral, but as of writing this, the said post has already been deleted on Facebook.
