"Kaka-computer mo yan!" - Paraan Upang Maprotektahan ang Mata Mula sa Computer Screen
Staring at the computer all day is one of the leading causes of eyesight problems. Over the past few years, several studies have proven that artificial light from our mobile phones and computer can actually affect our eyesight.
This is a prevalent problem especially for people who work long hours in front of the computer. If you're one of those, how will you minimize the effects of the harsh light on your eyes?
Here are seven tips and tricks to protect your eyesight:
1. Clean your screen
Before you work, take the time to wipe your monitor. This way, the glare is reduced and your eyes wouldn't strain too much.
2. Don't forget to blink
As much as possible, always blink! We tend to forget this while staring at the screen, but blinking can actually save us a lot of trouble. Blinking is a way of your eyes to dehydrate itself.
3. Mind the lights
Is your room too bright? If so, then this could be contributing to your problem. Try dimming the lights whenever you're using your computer or mobile phone.
4. Rest your eyes
Working on the computer for a prolonged period of time might strain your eyes. Always remember to take a break every hour in order to rest your eyesight.
5. Say no to bright screens
You can also try adjusting your monitor screen. Opt for the dimmer screen, which is much better for the eyes. You can also try to switch to 'night mode' settings.
6. Avoid looking closely
Sometimes, the problem lies with the distance. Are you looking too closely at your monitor? If so, then it's time to start minding your distance. Looking too closely at the monitor can be straining for your eyes.
7. Try specialized eyewear
Many companies are now making specialized glasses with lens made specifically for protecting your eyes from the bright screen.
