School Bans "Harry Potter" Novels; Claims it Contains Real Magic Spells and Curses

St. Edward Catholic School banned Harry Potter's books in their library and claimed that those books contained actual magic spells and curses that can conjure evil spirits.

Reverend Dan Reehel of the St. Edward Catholic School said that Harry Potter's books could allow readers to conjure bad spirits upon reading it with the spells and curses given.

According to the pastor, J.K Rowling had written in her novels real magic spells and curses that could be spiritually draining and evil evoking.

Starting this school year, St Edward Catholic School in Nashville, Tennessee dropped all the 7 titles of the novels being banned within the school.

Pastor Reehel had also claimed that he came up with the decision after he consulted with exorcists from Rome and United States.

As of today, there are no available books of J.K Rowling in the school library because of the ban.

Parents received an email from the pastor about the ban before being implemented.


"The spells and curses in the books are actual spells and curses; which when being read by a human being risk conjuring evil spirits into the presence of the person reading the text." The pastor explained in the email.

Meanwhile, the school superintendent Rebecca Hammel said that there is no any official standing in the issue that the Diocese was pushing about.

However, Hammel also explained that pastor Reehel can do such implementation saying that the pastor has the right and authority to make such decision.
