Huawei Rolls Out EMUI 10 (Android 10) For Y9 Prime 2019

Huawei finally rolled out its custom user interface EMUI 10 based on the Android 10 mobile operating system for Y9 Prime 2019 smartphones.

It was made available to users in India on March 1, 2020 and Philippines the following day.

With a download size of 3.71 GB, EMUI 10.0.0.185 integrates Android security patches released in January 2020 and features that include a magazine-style UI, rounder and sharper icons, a redesigned camera app, and the much-awaited dark mode among others.

Unfortunately, Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 users will not be able to get the Always On Display feature on the EMUI 10 since it has no AMOLED or Super AMOLED display.

The rollout was not announced previously as some users already lost hope to get the upgrade they deserve. On its website, the company even posted that EMUI 10 will be released to "flagship" models and the Y9 Prime 2019 is only in the mid-range although it is the company's first smartphone to sport a pop-up selfie camera.

Huawei decided to roll out EMUI 10 eventually but trimmed it down to match hardware specifications of the Y9 Prime 2019.
