Philippines Reports 803 COVID-19 Cases, 54 Deaths

The Philippines has reported 803 COVID-19 cases and 54 deaths as of Friday, March 27, 2020, based on data provided by health authorities.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), there are 96 new cases, 9 addditional deaths, and 3 recoveries in the country as of 12 noon, which brings the total number of recoveries to 31.

The recoveries include a 48-year-old Filipino from Taguig City, a 25-year-old Filipino from Pasig City, and a 51-year-old Filipino male also from Pasig.

Those who lost their lives to the deadly virus came from:

  • Muntinlupa City - male (63 years old), female (72)
  • Quezon City - male (75), female (71), female (67)
  • Manila - male (74), male (57), male (62)
  • Cavite - female (83)



Sources said the number of confirmed cases is expected to increase following the arrival and distribution of COVID-19 test kits at designated hospitals.
