GCQ 'New Normal': Industries To Operate Or Remain Closed Starting May 1, 2020
Some industries will operate or remain closed during the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in the "new normal" starting May 1, 2020.
During a live interview, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that effective on Labor Day, areas (cities, municipalities, and barangays) that are placed under the GCQ will allow selected industries such as supermarket, banks, drug stores, laundry service, hardware, and restaurants including those inside malls to go back to business.
Secretary Roque clarified that full to gradual openings of some industries shall take place.
Full 100%:
50% - 100% operation:
50% on site and 50% work from home:

- Manufacturing for export
- E-commence delivery for essential and non-essential items
- Repair and maintenance service
- Housing and office services
50% on site and 50% work from home:
- Financial service
- Business process outsourcing (BPOs)
- Wholesale
- Other retail trade and non-leisure services
Industries that should remain closed are the following:
- Schools that will start classes in September
- Amusement, gaming, and fitness
- Tourism
- Mass gathering including religious and conferences
- Non-essential construction
