Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition Crash Fix (PC)
The PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, which was released and patched recently, crashes. Here's a guide on how to fix it.
Update the graphics driver
Using three desktop computers at home to play the game on different settings, we found out that frequent crashes happened on units with NVIDIA graphics cards and not a single crash took place on those with RADEON GPUs. So we decided to update to GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 451.85 which can be downloaded from here.
Increase your RAM
Based on readings from GPU-Z, we discovered that Horizon Zero Dawn PC version is a memory hog as it utilizes 90-95% of Random Access Memory. The minimum memory capacity to play the game is 8GB but it is better to have 16GB or even higher at 32GB.
Increase the Page File size or Virtual Memory in Windows 10
Here's a step-by-step guide:
The recommended initial size values for paging files are as follows:
The required values should be in MB. Just use a converter. For example, your RAM is 8GB (8000MB), your minimum page file value should be 12000MB (12GB) and maximum page value is 32000MB (32GB).
There is no need to increase the Paging File size if your RAM is 16GB or higher.
That's it. Enjoy playing Horizon Zero Dawn on PC!
