Di Na Muli Streams On Vivamax Starting Oct 22

The premiere episode of “Di Na Muli”, the first team up series of Julia Barretto and Marco Gumabao, with Marco Gallo, on September 18 on TV5, was met with much enthusiasm by the fans.

#DiNaMuliKapitLang, the show’s official promo hashtag, became a trending topic on Twitter, and the tweets showed positive feedbacks.  Some tweets read, “Maganda.  Bago lahat sa mata.  (Ang) casting, super fresh sa eyes.”  “Ginalingan agad first episode pa lang.”  “Nadadala talaga ako sa mga iyak mo, Juls.”

In this story about opening up to love and dealing with regret, Julia Barretto plays Yanna, an intelligent and loving young woman who suddenly becomes recluse and distant when she discovers her ability to see people’s remaining lifetime by touching their hand.  She pretends to be a germaphobe to avoid hand contact.

Yanna’s dream of building a successful business is supported by her longtime friend and suitor, CJ, played by Marco Gallo.  CJ feels that Yanna is holding back, but he continues to love her and help her build the hostel they’ve planned together.   It is because of CJ that Yanna learns to appreciate and value the time she spends with the significant people in her life.

When her path crosses with Mico, a good-looking but cynical guy played by Marco Gumabao, Yanna doubts that they’ll become friends.  But fate has a way of bringing them closer together.  Still, Yanna is careful not to touch Mico’s hand.  But for how long can she avoid it?  And how will she take Mico’s dark past?

Julia Barretto is very vocal about her feelings about this new series.  Noreen Capili, the show’s head writer and holds the title “Love Guru”, shared a screenshot of her conversation with Julia.  In the chat, Julia wrote, “Congratulations, ate! I’m glad we did this together….It’s when I read the script that I knew – it’s a go! Let’s do more together.”

At the press conference early in September, Julia praised everyone involved in this project, saying, “Ang ganda ng pagkakasulat, ang ganda ng pagkaka-direct, ang ganda ng vision ng production.  Ang ganda ng mga kasama ko.”

“Di Na Muli” is also a special treat for the fans of the love team of Bobby Andrews and Angelu de Leon.  The Angelu-Bobby tandem, which began in the popular teen-oriented show TGIS, was one of the most loved love teams in the ‘90s.

Angelu plays Grace, Yanna’s mother, who runs a charms and crystal store.  Bobby plays Alfred, the father that Yanna didn’t know she had.  Grace kept the truth from Yanna to protect her from the pain of knowing about Alfred’s wife, Lucy, played by Mickey Ferriols, and other daughter, Chelsea, played by Nicole Omillo.

Alfred happens to be a businessman whom Mico works for.   Alfred considers Mico his protége.  Meanwhile, Chelsea, Yanna’s half-sister, is Mico’s ex-girlfriend.  What a small world it is for them, and it’s going to be exciting to witness their encounters.

“Di Na Muli” also stars Baron Geisler as Yanna’s Uncle Toto, Liz Alindogan as Yanna’s Lola Divine who is a fortune teller.  Playing the family of CJ are Lander Vera Perez, Katya Santos and Andre Yllana. Yanna’s best friend is played by Krissha Viaje.  Mico’s sister is played by Ashley Diaz.

Viva is proud to present Andre Yllana and Ashley Diaz as a new generation of stars to watch.  Both come from a family of notable actors.  Andre is the son of Jomari Yllana and Aiko Melendez, while Ashley is the daughter of Joko Diaz.  Ready to make a name for themselves, Andre and Ashley also make a good pair in this series.

The haunting theme song is performed by one of the gems of Viva Records, Janine Teñoso.

Directed by Andoy Ranay, “Di Na Muli” is produced by Cignal and Sari Sari Channel, together with Viva Entertainment.  It is slated to run for 14 episodes.  It airs on TV5 every Saturday at 8 pm, with catch-up airings on Sari Sari Channel, 7 pm.
