MARK ANTHONY FERNANDEZ WITH THEIR SON MIGS CUADERNO
CLAUDINE BARRETTO makes her movie comeback in “Deception” and she’s paired anew with her teen ka-love team, Mark Anthony Fernandez. This starts streaming on VIVAMAX on January 28.
They did “Pare Ko” and “Mangarap Ka” in 1995 and they’re both hits, with their love affair blooming on and off screen.
“Matagal na ang planong reunion namin ni Mark but we can’t find the right material,” she says. “Hanggang sa heto, nakahanap ng magandang script through Direk Joel Lamangan.
"Natagalan but it turns out this is the best project for us kasi it’s beyond the romcom genre. It’s a dramatic suspense-thriller that comments about the justice system in our country.”
They’re now both more mature. “Yes, pareho kaming marami nang naranasan, pinagdaanan, we’re both parents now,” says Claudine. “And I think mas nakatulong yun for us to give better performances in our respective roles.”
Did they ever talk about their romantic past? “Yes we did,” says Mark. “Napag-usapan namin yun.
"Ano kaya kung nagkatuluyan kami, anong magiging hitsura ng anak namin? HIndi pa naman huli. Bata pa si Boss Clau, puede ko pa namang ligawan uli.”
Supporting them are Migz Cuaderno as Claudine’s son, Jim Pebanco as Claudine’s lawyer, Rose Van Ginkle as the mistress of Mark, Jaycee Parker and Sheree Bautista as cellmates of Claudine, Chanda Romero as Claudine’s mom, Mayton Eugenio, Juliana Segovia, Gerald Santos and Tori Topacio.
“Deception” tells the story of Rose (Claudine Barretto,) a famous actress, and Jericho (Mark Anthony Fernandez,) a stunt double, who fall in love with each other and get married.
As they start their own family, they are blessed with a son and named him Thomas. From the looks of it, it’s a perfect life filled with love, but what could have been a promising future for their family starts spiraling down after Rose became convicted for killing her husband and is sentenced to ten-year in jail.
With Rose in prison and Jericho’s death, their son is taken to an orphanage and learns to live without his parents.
When she regains her freedom, Rose tries to start her life anew, among them is finding and reconnecting with his estranged son, who is now a teenager.
But her troubled past starts to catch up with her and reveals all the lies that go with it. She also soon finds out why her almost perfect life went crumbling down.
