Genshin Impact 2.6 update: release date, new character, banners, events, more
HoYoverse has announced that the Genshin Impact 2.6 update is set to release on March 30, 2022. The latest Genshin Impact 2.6 patch, dubbed "Zephyr of the Violet Garden," includes a new character, a new region, a new boss, various events with abundant rewards, and more. Check out the highlights below.
New Character: Kamisato Ayato
The latest update brings one new playable character named Kamisato Ayato.
Kamisato Ayato, the new five-star Hydro Sword user, is a young but highly accomplished head of the Yashiro Commission's Kamisato Clan. In his Story Quest, players will witness how Ayato overcomes difficulties and an odd occurrence as Inazuma enters a new phase of progress.
Ayato is capable of inflicting massive Hydro damage in a short period of time and amplifying the effects of his party's Normal Attacks. As a hydro sword user, he would pair well with his cryo-based sister, Kamisato Ayaka, to create some effective freezing combos.
New Region: The Chasm
The Chasm, Liyue's major source of ores, is a striking violet-red area with an unfathomably deep underground cavern. Due to a series of mysterious accidents, the area has been closed and is now invaded by monsters, Treasure Hoarders, and Fatui.
The Chasm, the new region, is located at the westernmost of Liyue.
New Boss: Ruin Serpent
The Ruin Serpent is a new boss that is anticipated to be launched alongside The Chasm in Version 2.6.
The new enemy, Ruin Serpent, is a Ruin Machine resembling a giant snake. It slithers silently through the mine's shadows, paving the road to the known world for unknown threats deep within The Chasm's depths. It appears to be some form of digging machine according to its appearance and action.
Event Wishes (Banners)
Here are the banners to be released on the upcoming patch 2.6 of Genshin Impact:
Banner 1: The first banner will be the debut of Kamisato Ayato (5-star Hydro) with a Venti (5-star Anemo) re-run.
Banner 2: The second banner will be Ayato's sister, Kamisato Ayaka (5-star Cryo), in a re-run.
Meanwhile, the Weapon Event Wish will feature a new five-star sword called "Haran Geppaku Futsu," among others.
Genshin Impact Version 2.6 Events
The Chasm is a new region that will have a large aboveground and underground environment filled with new quests and exploration opportunities.
The new Archon Quest called "Requiem of the Echoing Depths" will uncover the story threads of Traveler Twins and Khaenri'ah. Dainsleif will help the players battle the enemy Abyss.
The main event of Genshin Impact 2.6, "Hues of the Violet Garden," will take place during the Magnificent Irodori Festival. It is composed of 4 mini-games, including The Moon and Stars Inscribe, Theater Mechanicus, Clash of Lone Blades, and The Floral Courtyard.
The Magnificent Irodori Festival is a seasonal event in Inazuma that will grant players a free 4-star hydro sword character Xingqiu.
Players can also expect more events, including "Spices from the West" (a new cooking event), "Vibro-Crystal Research" (a combat challenge), "Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens" (a photography-related event), and "Ley Line Overflow."

Genshin Impact 2.6 update release date is on March 30, 2022. The action RPG is cross-platform compatible with mobile devices (Android and iOS), PS4/PS5, and PC. It is available for download on the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store, Android via Google Play, iOS via the App Store, and PC via the Epic Games Store or the official Genshin Impact website (genshin.hoyoverse.com).
