Globe bags Ookla's Best 5G Video Experience Award in PH

Globe has won Ookla's Best 5G Video Experience Award in the Philippines, showing the impact of its 5G network builds.

The Video Awards were inaugurated earlier this year by the global leader in network analytics and connectivity insights, based on the performance of local mobile networks in the third and fourth quarters of 2021.

Ookla calculated the video score for each mobile network by weighing the sum of numerous video parameters.

It includes the percentage of tests that failed to start, the time required to load the first frame of video playback, the quality of the video loaded, the percentage of users who encountered at least one stall during video loading or playback, and the rebuffering ratio for users who experienced a lag.

Currently, 5G is most known for its ability to give higher-quality streaming experiences on mobile devices and more reliable video streaming delivery, owing to faster network rates, ultra-low latency, and increased bandwidth. It is predicted to improve people's experiences and revolutionize industries in the future.

Globe 5G is available in over 2,000 outdoor and indoor venues across the country as of end-2021. It provides 96 percent outdoor coverage in the National Capital Region (NCR) and 84 percent in key Visayas and Mindanao cities.
