Huawei EMUI 12 Update Schedule in PH, Global, Eligible Devices

Huawei has released its upgrade plan for EMUI 12 update. The new software will be available for the global Huawei smartphone users from the first half of 2022.

The upgrade plan includes the official EMUI 12 rollout schedule, eligible devices, and regions/countries. Huawei noted that this rollout plan only applies to open line phones, not for carrier-locked phones. Meanwhile, carriers may take some time to implement EMUI 12 (successor of EMUI 11) due to their own software policies.

EMUI 12 flaunts a user interface similar to HarmonyOS, as well as a brand new control panel and a slew of other features that elevate it above previous EMUI versions. Huawei, however, didn't indicate if the latest EMUI version will come with Android 12. Regarding Google Mobile Services (GMS), new Huawei handsets don't have Google Play services, while older models retain GMS certificates. This means that old Huawei phones, including the Huawei P30 series, continue to run Android apps natively.
