Smart, fastest mobile operator in PH for Q1 2022 —Ookla
Ookla has released its Market Analysis for Q1 2022 for mobile, revealing the top telcos in the Philippines in terms of median download speed.
According to the internet analytics firm's latest report, Smart emerged as the fastest mobile operator in the Philippines from January to March 2022.
Smart recorded a median download speed of 24.07 Mbps. It was followed by Globe at 16.96 Mbps and DITO at 15.25 Mbps.
In terms of latency (a measure of time delay measured in milliseconds), Smart also tops the list with the lowest median latency at 19 ms, followed by Globe at 23 ms. DITO came third place with 25 ms.
When it comes to 5G Performance, Smart had the fastest median download in the Philippines during the first quarter of 2022 at 200.43 Megabits per second, followed by Globe at 121.29 Mbps.
Meanwhile, Ookla included a list of key cities in the Philippines that showed the fastest median mobile download speed for Q1 of 2022.
Caloocan took the top spot for the fastest median mobile download speed among the Philippines' most populous cities at 25.71 Mbps during Q1 2022. It was followed by Quezon City (23.89 Mbps), Manila (23.75 Mbps), Davao City (15.19 Mbps), and Cebu City (13.31 Mbps).
