‘Ang Kapatid ay Kapamilya rin’: More reasons why ABS-CBN fans become avid TV5 viewers
Indeed, the landscape of Philippine TV has considerably transformed in the past two years. Who would’ve thought that the biggest Kapamilya stars would ever be seen on a rival channel? Well, ‘openness’ and ‘inclusivity’ are favorite bywords these days, and TV5 has definitely opened its doors and included Kapamilya stars to its roster of talents. #IBAngSayaPagSama-sama, indeed.
With the Kapamilya x Kapatid crossover, fans who used to be ‘Solid Kapamilya’ followed their idols and started tuning in to TV5. Apparently, they liked what they saw and felt comfortable being Kapatid viewers as well. Like their favorite stars, fans have also embraced this ‘dual citizenship,’ as reflected in the rise in viewership ratings and social media engagements of TV5 shows in recent years.
But what is it about these TV5 shows that elicited a growing patronage among Kapamilya followers? Who are these Kapamilya stars who brought their talent and popularity to TV5 and are now entertaining their fans as Kapatid talents? Let’s get to know these Kapamilya stars and find out why their fans have also become avid Kapatid viewers through their respective TV5 programs:

Maja is now dubbed as TV5’s ‘Majestic Superstar,’ and she is definitely owning up to the crown with the versatility she is showing, this time as a comedy star in her first-ever TV sitcom. “Oh My Korona” has easily become a weekend favorite as viewers follow the riotous misadventures of a motley group of showbiz wannabes who get into hilarious schemes to stop their landlandy Lablab (Maja’s character) from selling their boarding house.
