Talentadong Pintor na Walang Pwesto, Ipinamalas ang Angking Talento

Art is a valuable part of our culture. Unfortunately, these days, artists are not well-compensated for their work. Most people tend to underappreciate the importance of artists and the craft that they do. This leaves many artists penniless.

Thanks to social media, people are slowly seeing artists in a different light. Earlier in April, a netizen shared her memorable encounter with a talented artist. Maeriel Aquino from Angono, Rizal, narrated on Facebook how they were approached by an elderly man.

According to her post, Maeriel and her family were at SM Angono. Out of nowhere, an elderly man approached them and couldn't help but notice Maeriel's young niece. The man attempted to strike a conversation with her, asking about whether or not it's her niece's birthday:

"Pati ako natakot lalo na’t strangers kaya tinawag ko agad tito ko para sana paalisin o tanungin kung anung sadya akala ko religious or what yun pala nag ddrawing lang."

Soon enough, their fear dissipated after learning that the old man is a traveling artist. He offered to take a few minutes of their time to draw Maeriel's niece. In just a matter of minutes, the talented artist managed to whip out an incredibly detailed portrait of the little girl!

As expected, Maeriel's family were amazed by his work. What's even more shocking is the fact that he only asked for Php 150 for the portrait. Indeed, it is a small amount to pay for his amazing talent.
