For Joanna Peji, life was going well. At 21 years old, she was already a seafarer in a Norwegian Cruise line who has traveled the world. It seems like nothing could ever go wrong with Joanna's life, but her faith was just about to be tested.

December 4, 2018, marks the day when Joanna received dreadful news. The ship that she was working in just arrived in New York, United States. However, she was informed that she needed to get back immediately to the Philippines due to her health.

After a grueling journey, Joanna finally made it back, with her family and an ambulance waiting from her. Form the airport, she was transported straight to the hospital. There, they found out what has been making her weak.

Joanna was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. This news almost broke her spirits. This disease makes Joanna very weak to the point that even a soft touch will hurt her. This prompted her to stay in the hospital for a few months.

On April 2019, Joanna was on her way to recovery. However, another distressful news strike. She wasn't able to go back to work right away because she contracted Lupus, which caused her whole body to be covered in rashes.

Any of these obstacles is enough to break someone's spirits. But for Joanna, she was blessed to have a supportive family. Now, she shared her story on Facebook to encourage other people who are also going through the same situation.

Many people on Facebook admired Joanna for her bravery. Indeed, she served as a beacon of hope for other people with the same experience.
