Dogs are not just pets, because they serve as a loyal companion too. This is why losing a dog also feels like losing a member of your family. Letting go of a beloved pet can be a traumatic experience, especially for a young child.

The loss becomes even more heartbreaking when it's caused by an accident. Earlier this week, a young girl made headlines on social media after finding out devastating news about her beloved pet.

In a short clip shared by Facebook page "I Juanderer," a little girl can be seen mourning the loss of her dog. She was inconsolable as she tried to wake up her pet, who lays unconscious on the cold pavement. Several people tried to take away the girl from her pet but to no avail.

In an act of grief, the little girl even stomped her hands on the road, as if trying to bring her beloved dog back to life. Sadly, no matter how much she tries to wake it up, her pet will no longer open its eyes again.

Apparently, her beloved pet's life was cut short after being involved in a hit-and-run accident. According to sources online, the dog was run over by a truck. As expected, a helpless puppy doesn't stand a chance against a vehicle that massive.

On the other hand, this heartbreaking video went viral on social media. As of writing this, the three-minute clip has already reached more than 34,000 reactions and 50,000 shares on Facebook alone! Many people also expressed their support for the little girl, knowing how tough it is to lose a pet.
