Valorant is a top-rated first-person shooter game developed by Riot, the League of Legends' creator. Since the FPS game is new, and just like other games, it is also affected by various bugs and errors, which is relatively common for a graphics-intensive game.
Valorant error code 43 is among the many error codes players encounter. The error code VAL 43 entails a message — "There was an error connecting to the platform. Please restart your game client." This error usually prompts when a player attempts to connect to the game after server maintenance or game patch.

Solution 1: Delete game's app data
1. Go to your App Data folder (press Windows button + R, and enter "%LocalAppData%"). Open Riot Games > Riot Client > Data. Delete the RiotClientPrivateSettings.yaml file.
2. Run Valorant as Admin after deleting the file (right-click the game icon and click Run as administrator).
This procedure causes your client to re-log into the game, inevitably fixing the underlying issue.
Solution 2: Auto-start vgc service
1. Press the "Windows" button, search the "Services" app and open it.
2. Scroll down and find the "vgc" service and double click it.
3. Under the "General" tab, click on the Startup type dropdown menu and select "Automatic."
4. Click Apply, then click "Start" and wait for the Service Status to display "Running."
5. After that, Valorant must be run as admin. Right-click on the VALORANT icon and select "Properties." Under the "Compatibility" tab, check "Run this program as an administrator," then click Appy to save changes.

Solution 3: Uninstall Riot Vanguard
You can try to uninstall the Riot Vanguard through the tray icon (right-click Riot Vanguard icon, click More and select Uninstall Vanguard). Alternatively, you can go to the Control Panel (press the Windows button and search Control Panel) and select "Programs and Features." Right-click on "Riot Vanguard" and select "Uninstall" to remove it. Next, restart your computer or laptop and relaunch the game client to reinstall the Riot Vanguard automatically. After successfully reinstalling Vanguard, restart the PC again and launch Valorant. Log in to the game, and the Valorant error code 43 should be gone, hopefully.
Solution 4: Use VPN (Virtual Private Network)
Some players can fix error code 43 by using VPN.
